'Ka Pū Te Ruha, Ka Hao Te Rangatahi'
When the previous net retires, the new net goes fishing

We believe in and promote intergenerational responsibly here at Te Pā, and listening to those who will come after us. It was a great and important day today as we got to hear firsthand perspectives from our Rangatahi on the important issues that affect them.
We believe the most effective way to encourage positive futures, is to listen, and support ideas that will help flourish the generation it involves, and today was a great moment for that.
Put together by our amazing Te Ohomai rangatahi Kaiarahi Jamie, Atu, Andrea and James, in this hui our 42 rangatahi from varying cultural backgrounds let us know that wellbeing needs a holistic approach and each person will have their own different needs. One thing that did come up consistently was that positive social group environments are fundamental to good decisions being made.
A highlight for us was the whaikōrero being started by our Pou Arahi Tikanga Novi Marikena and responded to, in speech by his grandson. Ka mau te wehi!
