We recently opened our Rangatahi Whare where our rangatira mō apōpō have the opportunity of living in a kaupapa Māori environment while getting on their feet.

Last week, we hosted a warm and welcoming BBQ as a whakawhanaungatanga for these great rangatahi. The BBQ was a small way to show our support and to let them know we’ve got their backs!

We discussed tikanga for their new homes, played games, shared kai and connected with one another. Together, they are not merely traversing a new world; they are building a community of strength, support and skill bases we are hoping will last a lifetime. Our esteemed Kahurangi Vivi Lee acts as a steady backstop for our rangatahi as needed, and joined us on the day
