Home is the Starting Place of Love, Hope and Dreams

Meet Brihas and Saviour, our young couple and shining star examples of ‘Te Wha Nau’ services we are extremely proud of.
Homelessness amongst Rangatahi is a significant issue in Aotearoa and Te Pā is dedicated to helping those who are battling this reality. Our transitional housing for Rangatahi is designed to help our next generation begin their journey toward a better future.
Brihas, 22, faced immense challenges from a young age—unstable living conditions, familial breakdowns and homelessness. He once slept rough on Auckland’s streets, struggling to survive through petty crimes. A turning point came when he realised the dangerous path he was on. With determination and the right support, Brihas is now working towards his dreams. He’s enrolled in a mechanics course, working at Dominos and almost at the end of his community service.
Saviour, 18, shared a similar troubled past and was living in a Women’s Refuge when she met Brihas. Together, they’ve become each other’s biggest supporters. Saviour is also thriving—working part-time at Dominos, and exploring her creative side through an online business Butterfly Blutique which offers LED bouquets designed as the perfect addition for the gift-giving season.
Their journey hasn’t been easy—they’ve moved through over 20 homes—but through our Te Pā ‘Whā Nau’ team we’ve secured them long-term housing. Now, with a safe and affordable home Brihas and Saviour are blooming, showing that with the right support, dreams can become a reality.
We’re so proud of their progress and the resilience they’ve shown. If you’re a Rangatahi facing similar challenges, don’t hesitate to reach out to Te Pā for support. Also, don’t forget to check out Butterfly Blutique and order for your next gift.
