Te Oho Mai Rangatahi – Youth Transitional Housing
Te Oho Mai Rangatahi is a transitional housing and wellbeing support service for rangatahi who are facing homelessness.

This service specialises in providing transitional housing to rangatahi facing homelessness while supporting them to live independently in sustainable accommodation. Support is provided for 6-12 months depending on individual need and is continually assessed in 3-month intervals.
For rangatahi to be suitable for this service they must:
- Be facing homelessness (including not having permanent or sustainable accommodation)
- Be aged 16-25
Te Oho Mai Rangatahi provides:
- Transitional housing
- Support in sourcing sustainable, permanent accommodation
- Support with financial aid, employment, and stabilisation
- Support with personal health needs and wellness
- Support with cultural connections and self-identification
- Improve rangatahi socio-economic circumstances regarding health, education, and employment.
- Connect rangatahi to their culture and build confidence in cultural settings e.g. whakawhanaungtanga.
- Disrupt the pipeline of rangatahi within the Justice system to stop the cycle of intergenerational incarceration.
The long-term goals for rangatahi in our service are:
- Living independently in sustainable accommodation.
- Equipped with the skills to pursue and achieve personal goals.
- Equipped with the skills to self-navigate systems to support wellbeing: health, education, employment, and social services.
- Have a strong sense of self-identity, know their whakapapa, and feel confident in cultural settings.
