The Organisation
Te Pā is a Kaupapa Māori organisation that responds to community needs and vulnerable whānau. Te Pā’s ecology of care has key focus areas that include reintegration, whānau resilience/manawaroa, mental health/hauora hinengaro, emotional health/hauora kare ā-roto, addictions/ngā piringa wara, and whānau whai ora responses.
Te Pā has a substantial history in working successfully in the space of reintegration and social services, and we pride ourselves on operating within a whānau and tangata centric service operating model that is reinforced by Kaupapa Māori values; manaakitanga, whakapapa, wairuatanga, arohatanga, whanaungatanga and rangatiratanga.
The Role
Administrator extraordinaire! We are looking for that special someone who can make all the difference. Personality and drive, determination, passion, great sense of humour, excellent common-sense problem solving, and always willing to get amongst it and lend a hand. You will report directly to the Service Manager.
Key Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Manage and navigate referrals.
- Enter referrals and all relevant information into the CMS.
- Use effective and professional communication skills verbal and written to communicate with external and internal stakeholders.
- Process information accurately and in a timely manner to support kaiarahi effectively.
- Answer phone queries and navigate accordingly.
- Generate reports as requested, weekly, monthly, yearly.
- Organise hui and support manager and team accordingly with hui.
- Support Te Pā generally upon request.
The successful applicant will have the following attributes:
- Be comfortable in a Kaupapa Māori environment.
- An understanding Te Ao Māori culture and tikanga is expected.
- Confident with client management data recording systems.
- Confident with Microsoft Office 365.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship skills.
- Proven administration experience.
- Organised and able to manage your time effectively.
- Attention to detail.
- Flexibility, and a team player.
- Accurate and timely.
- An energetic, resilient and ‘can do’ attitude.
- A current New Zealand full driver licence.
Desirable
- 1-3 years’ experience in an administration role.

About the roles
The Manager – Reintegration manages the Reintegration Support Long Servers Service, Supported Accommodation Service, Child Travel Fund and Creating Positive Pathways Contract.
The Manager – Deported Tangata manages the Reintegration and Supported Accommodation Service for Returning Deportees.
Both positions include ensuring the services are implemented to a high quality standard, and the management of contracts, costs and risks are professionally managed and monitored.
Daily interactions with both internal and external stakeholders will reflect the principles of Te Tiriti O Waitangi – Partnership, Participation and Protection.
Requirements
The chosen candidates will have considerable strengths in all or most of the following:
- Formal qualification in level 5 or above in Management, Education, Law, Health, Community Services or similar.
- A clean, current full NZ driver licence.
- Demonstrated ability to work confidently and competently within, and enjoy, Te Ao Maori.
- A demonstrated successful experience in contract/operations management in the same field, or similar or related fields.
- A track record of excellent relationship and stakeholder management.
- Demonstrated capacity to recruit, manage, and coach team leaders to get the best out of their staff on an ongoing basis.
- Experience in successfully managing for performance including overcoming poor performance situations and addressing poor behaviour.
- A high standard of ethics and confidentiality to handle sensitive information.
- Demonstrated experience in risk management.
- Understand the social, ethnic, and behavioural characteristics of those from different cultural backgrounds and can translate that knowledge into work practices and delivery of services.
- The ability to effectively prioritise and schedule work to meet sometimes multiple competing deadlines and maintain the quality of the services delivered.
- Take initiative, act with confidence, and work in a systematic and methodical, and orderly way.
- Demonstrate initiative in addressing issues and problems arising in the role.
- Demonstrate ability to work in collaborative peer and other stakeholder relationships.
- Ability to work flexible hours to cover service delivery requirements at peak times.
- Technically proficient in the Microsoft office suite of applications.
Desirable
- Experience working within a prison setting.
- Fluent in Te Reo.
- Fluent in a Pasifika language.
Direct Reporting
These positions will report to the General Manager – Operations.

These positions will be based in Royal Oak.
